Hello all you pretty faces! Somebody pinch us, because this has been a long time coming. Six Years Close is everything we’ve ever dreamed of doing and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. Years ago, Lizzie and I were sitting on the living room couch and dreams of opening a business together began to grow. Starting then, most of our ideas, conversations and prayers have revolved around making this business come to life. The question always was, how are we going to fit all of our talents and all that we love into one concept? Jesus, flowers, parties, positive thinking, weddings, gift giving, anything pretty, dinner parties, cooking, friendships, etiquette, conversations, fashion, eating, design, traveling… all those things are just scratching the surface. We finally realized we could do it all by breaking it down to one category. Living Beautifully.
Living Beautifully is so much more then making things look pretty and perfect. It’s about living well; living with intention. It’s about giving your best time of day to the One who really matters. It means having fresh flowers in your house and going the extra mile for a simple dinner party. It means putting the same amount of effort into a bridal shower that you put into the wedding. It means dressing up for special occasions or maybe just because you feel like it. It’s sometimes dressing down, slipping into a cashmere sweater and pouring yourself a glass of wine while binge watching Friends. It’s blasting music and dancing in the middle of the kitchen with your family. It’s choosing to love others well, and making the effort to show them. It’s the smell of fresh laundry and a clean house. It’s getting up early and watching the sunrise, or staying up late to watch the stars. It’s about tying the perfect bow on a hostess gift. It’s McDonald’s cheeseburgers, an ice cold coke and long back road drives. It’s not about making your home beautiful to show it off, but the transformation that happens to your spirit when you live in a place that makes you proud. It’s praising God. It’s about late night walks and the sound of birds chirping in the morning. It’s conversations that last till the sun comes up. It’s sleeping in, taking a day off and not feeling guilty about it. It’s choosing to be grateful. Sometimes living beautifully takes extra effort, and sometimes it takes less.
Six Years Close is so much more then beautifying life. We are convinced that surrounding yourself with beauty eventually bleeds inward. Our desire is to inspire people on the exterior in hopes that it resonates within. We believe that beauty breaths healing, growth, inspiration, empowerment and restoration. It’s a concept that factors into every aspect of our lives and we can’t wait to inspire you all to live beautifully.
